Cole was a little bit grumpy today.... so during his nap I was trying to think of a way to cheer him up. Then I remembered something my dad did when I was little. He used to take me on a "date" with just me and him. I always cherished those times. So I decided to take Cole on a date. We went out to a movie and it was his first time in the theater. We picked out some treats and watched Kung Fu Panda. He actually watched the entire movie. He was in such a happy mood afterwards. I think he just needed to get out and do something special and fun. So it was a success!

How fun! I've done that a couple of times and it's so nice to reconnect with your kids. Those times I had with Drew one-on-one are long gone, so it's fun to recreate that. You really sound like such a great mom, and your kids are just adorable!! By the way, I use photoshop elements (its less than $100-compared to the 600-800 dollars for the full version of photoshop). There are lots of tutorials you can find online, try JessicaSprague.com, she has some great classes. Or if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them for you!
Isn't that so much fun? I do that with Isaiah quite a bit... when we do that he says, "Are we on a date?" I love it.
Cole must of loved it! I have always tried to get out with Trey and do something fun just with the two of us, because they need that one on one time. Sometimes I even have Cody do it too. Trey loved that movie. Cody is the one that took him the day it came out. I'm glad Cole liked it. It is always fun to go to the movie with your kids. Well that is so cute that he got to have a mommy day. It's also really fun for us as moms too.
Such a fabulous idea! One-on-one time is so great. And taking him to the theater for the first time must have been great. Grant's grandparents took him to his first movie and I am still a little bitter about it 'cause I had wanted to be the one to do it. Oh well. I guess I'd better get over it...but, Lily and Harris are mine for their first ventures to a movie!
You're such a cool mom!
How fun! I saw that movie with my grandkids this summer. I have always loved going to the movies! (I didn't know they had theaters in Alaska!) Just Kidding!
What a great idea! Isn't it a cute movie? We went to it last weekend. My kids laughed and laughed. Good times.
Oh how fun. Glad he enjoyed it...
I love taking my kids on those one on one dates! It makes me realize how special and individual they are and how we can get some good chatting in with just the two of us.
what a fun date. Cole is lucky to have you as his mother.
Hooray for you! I took Karlee to a movie in a theatre and it was a nightmare. Cole is a good boy!
And, yes, I love Ali's cheesy grin at the fair. I'm starting to see a lot more mommy and that girl!
